Torchbearer Statement of Faith
God is the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Lord Jesus Christ is God’s Son being one with the Father. All things are created by Him and for Him.
Through the action of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, He became man.
He was without sin and of His free will, and by His sacrificial death upon the Cross, He brought about salvation for this fallen world.
He is the only mediator between God and man, and by accepting His salvation through faith, man is justified from his sins and receives forgiveness and eternal life.
Jesus Christ is risen bodily from the dead.
Jesus Christ will return to deliver just judgment and to bring all things to completion.
The Holy Spirit is God in unity with the Father and the Son.
Through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ comes to dwell within those who accept Him through faith. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, a person becomes a new creature and is being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ adds those who believe in Him to his Body. This is His church on earth, of which He is the Head.
The Bible is, in its entirety, the revelation of God for mankind, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
As an eight-month Bible school, we are not regionally accredited. That being said, we have had some Christian colleges that have allowed students to transfer fifteen credit hours (or more) for studies completed here.
Credit transfer is a done on a case by case basis with admissions counselors from different colleges. We are happy to be a part of the process. Please reach out to our registrar at registrar@timberlinelodge.com if you have questions.
The total cost for the 2026-2027 School Year is $15,725 USD.
Program fees include registration deposit, classes, room and board, books, internet access, outdoor activities, and adventure trips. Two mission trips are part of the program for all students and included in tuition amount.
Prices exclude laundry, ski pass, optional activities, and immigration fees for international students. Ski passes are not mandatory, but because of our ministry at the Winter Park Resort, it is encouraged for those who can afford one. (Skiing/snowboarding experience is not needed to participate in the ministry at the resort.)
First Semester Arrival Day: September 9th, 2026
Graduation Day: May 7, 2027
First Semester Start Date (Arrival Day): September 10th, 2027
Graduation (Final Day): May 8th, 2028

Our maximum capacity is 42 students: 18 girls, 24 guys.
Our application for Class of 2025-2026 goes live on September 15th, 2025. Enrolling as soon as possible is advised because slots generally begin to fill in January. Previously, we filled by the first week of January. Timberline offers an early registration Ski Pass incentive each year.
Prospective students and their families are welcome to come get a glimpse of life at Timberline. We call these visits "Taste and See's!"
Please inquire about a Taste and See visit by emailing registrar@timberlinelodge.org.
We arrange for prospective students to arrive Tuesday and depart sometime Thursday afternoon. Taste and See visits are free of charge once you get yourself to Timberline. This gives prospective students a view into some unique aspects of Timberline's program, opportunities to hang out with our current student body, and time to talk with Bible School staff.
Meals are included with tuition. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for the full length of the program. Students typically enjoy a continental breakfast, and home-cooked, family-style lunch and dinner alongside many of the staff and staff families. Flavors and styles of food vary often and our kitchen crew works hard to provide high-quality meals.
Students pack a bag lunch if they are going to be offsite for a meal.
An additional fee is required for students requiring a special diet (gluten/dairy free etc.) See the financial agreement in your Enrollment Documents form for details once you are accepted.

Timberline provides transportation for all trips and programs for the Bible school, however, students are required to arrange their own transportation to/from the airport for school breaks and arrival days at Timberline.
Our Fall missions trip concludes at the end of the first semester, so students are transported to the Denver airport, and will be able to fly home from there or from the city where the Fall missions trip was hosted - typically New York City.
Below are options to get to and from Denver/DIA to Timberline:
- Home James Transportation provides daily service from Denver International Airport to Fraser. On arrival days, Timberline collects students from the drop-off location in Fraser.
- Amtrak also provides daily train service to Fraser.
- Taking the Bustang to and from Union Station in Denver is also an option.
At Timberline Ministries Inc., we strive to provide a welcoming environment for all guests and students. While we are not certified as a fully accessible facility for individuals with disabilities, we are committed to addressing each situation individually to the best of our abilities.
If you or a loved one has specific needs, please contact us directly at communications@timberlinelodge.org so that we can discuss how we may be able to accommodate you.
Here’s the basic breakdown for the full week. This includes lodging, towels, linens, all meals, and guided activities.
Adults (18+): $625
Youth (11-17): $400
Child (4-10): $284
Infant/Toddler: $0
There will be a $149 non-refundable deposit after registration. Remaining balance will be due one month before your trip. If the week is already filled, your registration will be added to our waiting list.
Our goal is to help guests of all ability have meaningful experiences in the outdoors. Hikes and bike rides will be broken up by ability level and age group (for the younger guests). These divisions are just recommendations - more informed grouping will take place once we have a better handle on the ability levels of our guests.
We know that there are rarely families in which every single family member loves the same activities. This week is designed to accommodate the needs of everyone in your group or family, whether or not they decide to participate in our programmed activities. For those who’d rather stay back, this week will be a wonderful chance to get away into the beauty of the mountains, explore a tourist town, or enjoy some quiet in contemplation of the biblical truths discussed in our group sessions. None of the activities are mandated - try one, skip a day, or participate in all 4 days! It’s completely up to you!
We love young kids! (Actually, we love all kids - even the 40-year-old variety!) If the children in your party are very young or need a lot of extra care, you may find there are some limitations as to which outdoor activities you can participate in, due to the amount of time you may be away from campus.
Programmed activities and Bible teaching sessions will cater to different age groups and ability levels, designed to keep all guests engaged and growing in their understanding and relationship with Jesus.
There will be child-care provided for all ages during our teaching sessions morning and evening, should you choose to utilize it, so that you can fully engage in the study of God’s Word.
*We will not be able to provide day-long care for children ages 0-3 due to the unique needs that are involved, but we know you will find plenty to do with your little ones around campus and in the local community.
Absolutely! This is not a “family only” retreat, and we hope that a number of individuals will come to enjoy the outdoors and dig into God’s word with us. Bring a friend or two and plan to have plenty of time adventuring together and also meeting some new people.
Each individual family will have their own room, and we will have rooms designated for the singles joining us; one designated room for men and another separate room for women. If you would prefer your own room, please reach out to us and we can see if there are options in the surrounding area to accommodate your preferences.
One of the hallmarks of Timberline and Torchbearers International (our umbrella organization) is our emphasis on practical Bible teaching and growth in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This focus is at the heart of our Ascent Week and one of the things that sets this program apart from many other retreats being offered around the country.
Most mornings after breakfast, the group will be split by age for a BIBLE session, hearing from our speaker about your week’s unique theme. Another session is offered each evening after dinner, for a total of 7 BIBLE sessions throughout the week.
Children and youth will be led by our staff team in fun activities as well as personal Bible Study and discussion designed to meet their unique needs.
During the day, each outdoor adventure will be led by one of our trained staff who will often share a thought from the Word, questions from the session, or a part of their personal testimony over a water or lunch break.
We also want there to be space, both physically and in the schedule, for you to connect with God individually or as a family. Coffee and tea will be ready every morning one hour before breakfast if you want to grab a cup and take a walk in God’s creation, or find the perfect spot to sit and reflect on all you’re learning and what He may be communicating with you. As we mentioned before, we are not mandating involvement in daily activities and we encourage you to take advantage of the time during the day for what you need spiritually or personally.
All housing accommodations are in our European-styled mountain lodges. We have two residential lodges that have private bathrooms/showers, deck access, and adjustable bed layouts to meet your individual or family needs. If you have a child who requires a pack-n-play or crib, we may be able to provide what you need, but our access is limited to a first come, first serve basis.
Linens, pillows, bedding and towels are included in each room.
Some rooms include fireplaces, which can be used
if the evenings cool off or if you would prefer a relaxing, mountain atmosphere as you go to sleep.
*If you would like a fireplace room, please request this at registration and we will do our best to oblige while these rooms are available.
We have eight rooms available for families, one room reserved for single men, and one reserved for single women.
Each room can accommodate between 6-10 people, so the size of the retreat will be determined primarily by the size of each family.
Our limited numbers make the retreat a very intimate experience where new friends can become like family. Make sure to sign up early to ensure space is still available.

Flying in: We will NOT be able to provide transportation from Denver International Airport (into which you should book your flight) to Timberline Lodge, but there is a shuttle service that makes the two-hour trip from DIA a few times a day. You can rent a vehicle at the airport for the duration of your stay or, if you are really adventurous, take the Amtrak train which winds through mountains and tunnels as it makes its way across the continental divide and into the Winter Park area. (If you want to take the train, please know that train travel can be more unpredictable and not as timely as other means.)
Driving in: We are located at 415 County Road 5001, Fraser, CO 80442 (about 1.5 hours from downtown Denver).
Travel around town: Transportation to all programmed outdoor adventures will be provided by Timberline. During personal free time, transportation into town will be your responsibility. On Wednesday, there will be the option to explore some of the fun and recreation available in our county.

While we desire that you would come into the mountains to “unplug” from some of the stress that technology can bring, we understand that it is not always possible to fully disconnect. Most cell companies can get coverage at the Lodge and we have complimentary WiFi for all guests. If scanning or printing is needed, please reach out to our staff team to help accommodate you. There is also a public workspace located in the nearby town where more advanced business solutions are available.

The easy answer is – No. Timberline has a set of bikes that are available to rent (although we do NOT have children’s bikes available). There are also a number of locations in Fraser (where we are!) and nearby Winter Park, where different types of bikes can be rented. Our staff team is happy to help you get in touch with rental companies to find the perfect bike for the time that you are here.

Timberline Lodge Summer 2022 Covid Guest Policy
(as of 1/21/2022)
As everyone knows by this time in the Covid-19 pandemic, any sickness policy may need to change as County, State, and National policy changes. In light of that, this list of Timberline Ministries' Covid response for the summer of 2022 is accurate but may need to be edited throughout the year. We will alert any registered guests if there are significant changes in the policy due to the changing climate of the pandemic.
- Timberline takes your physical, mental, and spiritual health seriously and will do whatever we can to make sure that when you come to stay at the Lodge you are being taken care of in these areas.
- Everyone has a different perspective on what are considered "appropriate responses" to the pandemic. This is true for organizations and for individuals and we understand that the last two years have been challenging for many around the world. We seek to follow mandated government policy as long as it does not jeopardize core Christian values. For all other elements of dealing with Covid-19, we prefer to leave the decision-making up to each individual or individual family.
- The present mandated policy for Timberline does not require masks, vaccinations, or social distancing. We are presently allowed to operate under normal and sensible care when it comes to sick staff or guests.
- Occasionally the Timberline community needs to make sickness related decisions due to specific situations within our organization or with the group of guests who are present. This may mean that we put restrictions into place which are not mandated by the government but which we feel cares for those entrusted to us in a godly way. These restrictions will typically only affect the Timberline staff but may, in a serious situation, have implications for Timberline guests.
- Timberline encourages good hygiene and will have hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap available around campus.
- Please reach out to Peter Hammond at program@timberlinelodge.org for any specific questions related to Covid-19 or other sickness policies or to let us know if you have a unique health situation that the program staff should be aware of.
Our prayer is that your stay at Timberline would provide rest, enjoyment, challenge, friendship, and most of all a deepening of your understanding and relationship with our resurrected savior, Jesus Christ.

Covenant Groups make up the core of our discipleship program by scheduling into our curriculum a structured time weekly for staff members to meet with a small group of students. These small groups of three to five meet each week to pray, encourage, and sort through life questions together.
Our family groups (made up of the Covenant groups under a staff family) meet in a staff home every other week for breakfast. Family breakfast is typically a time of reading scripture, a story, or sharing from the heart on a question or topic. We also have two primary sporting events where family groups compete against each other in a tournament style competition.
Many of our staff members live right here on campus because of a desire to be available to students, and grow in relationship with them throughout the year.
Staff members and sometimes their families join students on various trips and retreats that occur throughout the year. These are intensive times of being together virtually 24/7, providing abundant discipleship opportunities
Staff members from kitchen, maintenance, program, hospitality, and bible school all are chosen from to lead our missions’ trips – offering students the opportunity to connect with staff members they would not otherwise have the chance to.
We seek to resolve all disciplinary issues with discipleship in mind. Although no one likes giving or receiving correction, when it’s done with a heart of discipleship, opportunities for spiritual formation and personal growth abound.

Our outdoor education program takes advantage of the beautiful mountainous setting of Colorado by challenging our students in their faith through various outings that will push them physically, mentally, and spiritually. Throughout the year students are led to participate in outdoor activities that are specifically designed to deepen their understanding of their identity in Christ, how to live in Christian community, and discover Christ as the power to minister. Each OESF includes each of the following: adventure, teaching, and debrief so that the students can discover Christian principles played out through challenges faced.
This is a community adventure where the goal is to experience God’s awesome creation in a unique location while seeking the Lord in community and in solitude. On this trip students camp in tents and participate in hiking, biking, and canyoneering with their covenant leaders. The community spends time in the evenings and the mornings under the teaching of God’s Word around a campfire with worship music to grow deeper in their relationship with God and with each other.
