Timberline Lodge Summer 2022 Covid Guest Policy
(as of 1/21/2022)
As everyone knows by this time in the Covid-19 pandemic, any sickness policy may need to change as County, State, and National policy changes. In light of that, this list of Timberline Ministries' Covid response for the summer of 2022 is accurate but may need to be edited throughout the year. We will alert any registered guests if there are significant changes in the policy due to the changing climate of the pandemic.
- Timberline takes your physical, mental, and spiritual health seriously and will do whatever we can to make sure that when you come to stay at the Lodge you are being taken care of in these areas.
- Everyone has a different perspective on what are considered "appropriate responses" to the pandemic. This is true for organizations and for individuals and we understand that the last two years have been challenging for many around the world. We seek to follow mandated government policy as long as it does not jeopardize core Christian values. For all other elements of dealing with Covid-19, we prefer to leave the decision-making up to each individual or individual family.
- The present mandated policy for Timberline does not require masks, vaccinations, or social distancing. We are presently allowed to operate under normal and sensible care when it comes to sick staff or guests.
- Occasionally the Timberline community needs to make sickness related decisions due to specific situations within our organization or with the group of guests who are present. This may mean that we put restrictions into place which are not mandated by the government but which we feel cares for those entrusted to us in a godly way. These restrictions will typically only affect the Timberline staff but may, in a serious situation, have implications for Timberline guests.
- Timberline encourages good hygiene and will have hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap available around campus.
- Please reach out to Peter Hammond at program@timberlinelodge.org for any specific questions related to Covid-19 or other sickness policies or to let us know if you have a unique health situation that the program staff should be aware of.
Our prayer is that your stay at Timberline would provide rest, enjoyment, challenge, friendship, and most of all a deepening of your understanding and relationship with our resurrected savior, Jesus Christ.

Covenant Groups make up the core of our discipleship program by scheduling into our curriculum a structured time weekly for staff members to meet with a small group of students. These small groups of three to five meet each week to pray, encourage, and sort through life questions together.
Our family groups (made up of the Covenant groups under a staff family) meet in a staff home every other week for breakfast. Family breakfast is typically a time of reading scripture, a story, or sharing from the heart on a question or topic. We also have two primary sporting events where family groups compete against each other in a tournament style competition.
Many of our staff members live right here on campus because of a desire to be available to students, and grow in relationship with them throughout the year.
Staff members and sometimes their families join students on various trips and retreats that occur throughout the year. These are intensive times of being together virtually 24/7, providing abundant discipleship opportunities
Staff members from kitchen, maintenance, program, hospitality, and bible school all are chosen from to lead our missions’ trips – offering students the opportunity to connect with staff members they would not otherwise have the chance to.
We seek to resolve all disciplinary issues with discipleship in mind. Although no one likes giving or receiving correction, when it’s done with a heart of discipleship, opportunities for spiritual formation and personal growth abound.

Our outdoor education program takes advantage of the beautiful mountainous setting of Colorado by challenging our students in their faith through various outings that will push them physically, mentally, and spiritually. Throughout the year students are led to participate in outdoor activities that are specifically designed to deepen their understanding of their identity in Christ, how to live in Christian community, and discover Christ as the power to minister. Each OESF includes each of the following: adventure, teaching, and debrief so that the students can discover Christian principles played out through challenges faced.
This is a community adventure where the goal is to experience God’s awesome creation in a unique location while seeking the Lord in community and in solitude. On this trip students camp in tents and participate in hiking, biking, and canyoneering with their covenant leaders. The community spends time in the evenings and the mornings under the teaching of God’s Word around a campfire with worship music to grow deeper in their relationship with God and with each other.
Colorado offers ample opportunities for students to find their own adventures. Some nearby activities include backcountry snowboarding and skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, snowmobiling, and much more!
