Divorce and Remarriage. Is there an allowable basis, and if so what is it? Can a person who divorced be remarried? The Gifts. Are they all still being used? End times. What is the rapture? What is the millennium kingdom? How do the church and Israel play out during these events? Women in the Church. What role should/can they play? Should/can they teach, and if so is there any restriction? Can they be an Elder/overseer? What is the difference between Dispensational and Covenant Theology? What is the purpose of the Church? When did it begin? How do you measure its success? How do I /can I know God’s will? What is God’s will for our lives? Calvinism/Arminianism. Historical background. What is God’s position on homosexuality? Are people born this way? How do you answer those who believe that redefining marriage to include same-gender couples (or any other redefinition of marriage)? What is a seeker church? Are they good or bad? Is it okay for believers to drink? What does the bible say about areas of conscience? Is tithing biblical? What is different between Old and New Testament giving? Is debt biblically allowable? Should Christians have debt? Are there different types of debt? Should we ever recommend a licensed counselor? What does it mean to counsel biblically? What is community? What is accountability? Are there any areas that are off-limits within an accountability relationship? Should we be a place that is “confidential” or “safe”? What is the difference? Baptism: Who is it for? Should people baptized as infants be baptized again? Differentiate between creation, evolution and theories of Genesis 1. Explain the apparent inconsistency between the violent God of the Old Testament and the Gracious God of the New Testament. What do Catholics believe thats different than what we believe? Is it okay for believers to use contraception? Artificially inseminate? Freeze embryos? Read the Manhattan Declaration. Should believers sign this document? Why or why not?Who has been a spiritual hero in your life? What’s one unique role you had in the family you were brought up in? If you were going on a spiritual retreat, what three things (besides your Bible) would you take and why? What is a hard-learned lesson from your life? What prayer have you been praying the longest? Alternately, what prayer has been answered for you recently? If you could ask Jesus to change one problem in the world today, which problem would you pick? Tell us about the most inspirational thing you have experienced (Bible verse, artwork, book, nature, person)? What is a memorable quote or scripture verse that has changed you? As you grow older, what is one quality you hope to retain (besides a sound mind)? What is a trip or experience that had a big spiritual impact on you and why? Think about your best spiritual friend. What do they do to encourage you? When was a time when someone showed you deep compassion/love like Jesus? Why are you here? Have you ever had anyone listen to you in a way that you really felt cared for? Describe that time. Do you have a significant time in your life when you realized you were an adult? What is your family like? If you could be set free (finances, time, responsibilities,) to do anything you wanted for the next year, what would you do and why? How have you seen God working in your life in the last year? To get to know a little more about you can you share with us a character that you can relate to from a movie, book, t.v. show, or the Bible? What about this character do you connect to? Do you have a way of blowing off steam or relaxing when things have been stressful? Is it wrong to masturbate and why? Is oral sex a sin? Why or why not? Is it wrong to smoke Marijuana and why? What’s your position on the Death penalty and why? Is it wrong to kill for self defense and why or why not? What are the best and worst translations of the Bible and why? Is it possible to obtain Sinless perfection and why or why not? Is it wrong to have sex outside of marriage and why or why not? What is the purpose of marriage? Is it wrong to swear and why? Is gambling wrong, why or why not? What is emotional Adultery? How far is too far in a dating relationship . . . emotionally? How far is too far in a friendship with the opposite sex emotionally? Are platonic friendships with the opposite sex possible? Alcohol: how much is too much? Is it possible to lose your salvation and why or why not? Video games: how much is too much? Is it wrong to view porn why or why not? Physical touch in a relationship: how far is too far? Is it ever ok to lie? Explain. Say something about gossip Is it possible to love someone of the same sex? Explain. Is it possible to talk about a woman’s body with another man without sinning? Why or why not? Three things that are non-negotiables in a potential spouse - go! What about people who never hear about the good news of Jesus? How can a good God allow evil and suffering in this world?
