ASCENT WEEK #3
August 2-7, 2026
Speaker: Dan Thomas
Topic: Ephesians
As the world gets smaller with the development of technology, transportation, and social media, people continue to long for something new to provide a sense of community and purpose. Paul presents the clear message that those who are in Christ have a unity that goes beyond what we can humanly fabricate.
He describes the Church in six pictures that we will explore throughout the week and that we should joyfully expect to see in our own lives as we cling to the One who is our Life. Join us to see the church presented as The Body, The Temple, The Mystery, The Light, The Bride, and The Soldier.

Dan serves as Director at Timberline Lodge, along with his wife Sarah, where they have lived for over 18 years. Dan enjoys living in the mountains around Fraser, Colorado where there are plenty of opportunities to mountain bike, snowboard, hunt, fish, and get lost in thought with stunning views of God’s creation all around. Of all the things that Dan does with the students and guests that come through Timberline, his favorite is teaching God's Word. "I love the process of wrestling through a passage or a concept and coming out on the other end being that much more amazed at God's gift of grace in the person of Jesus Christ!"
Dan is a lifelong learner having attended a one year Torchbearers program in England and Austria followed by a degree in Bible Teaching and Biblical languages from Columbia International University. He grew in his pastoral understanding serving as an associate pastor at Green Bay Community Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin and is presently stretched daily by his role at Timberline Lodge and living life as a dad of two adult daughters and a fourteen year old son.
