Daniel

Adventure Bible Weeks are fun retreats for anyone who is looking for a refreshing and engaging time in God's Word. These weeks don't have a particular emphasis on any activity, but have samplings of various Coloradan adventures that are sure to engage any crowd!

This week's BIBLE classes will be on the book of Daniel. The prophesy of Daniel teaches us of world history from the time of the Babylonian kingdom until today and then further into the future beyond today. 

Even more important than following world history through Daniel is what we will learn of our Messiah and His historic work: past, present and future. In other words, we will see what Jesus has accomplished and is yet to do here on Earth. 

As one teacher has put it…‘As the skeleton is to the human body, Daniel is to Biblical prophesy’. Please join us for this focused and important study.

Wayne Weissman

Wayne’s Jewish heritage and deep understanding of Jewish culture brings a unique perspective and rich insight into Scripture. After serving with Torchbearers International for 28 years, Wayne now travels around the world teaching about the Life that we can find in Jesus.

 

Wayne currently lives in Kimball, Nebraska with his wife Patti, and they are blessed with 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Time spent teaching at Timberline brings Wayne and Patti the additional joy of visiting their son Joseph and his family, who are serving on staff at Timberline! Wayne loves spending time outdoors and the adventure of life with Christ, and is looking forward to sharing with us at Adventure Bible Week #1 this summer.

Pricing & Other Info

Here’s the basic breakdown for the full week. This includes lodging, towels, linens, all meals, and guided activities.

  • Adults (18+): $560

  • Youth (11-17): $356

  • Child (4-10): $254

  • Infant/Toddler: $0

 

10% of your total cost will be due as a non-refundable deposit after registration. Remaining balance will be due one month before your trip. If the week is already filled, your registration will be added to our waiting list.

  • Statement of Faith
    Torchbearer Statement of Faith God is the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. ​ The Lord Jesus Christ is God’s Son being one with the Father. All things are created by Him and for Him. ​ Through the action of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, He became man. ​ He was without sin and of His free will, and by His sacrificial death upon the Cross, He brought about salvation for this fallen world. ​ He is the only mediator between God and man, and by accepting His salvation through faith, man is justified from his sins and receives forgiveness and eternal life. ​ Jesus Christ is risen bodily from the dead. ​ Jesus Christ will return to deliver just judgment and to bring all things to completion. ​ The Holy Spirit is God in unity with the Father and the Son. ​ Through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ comes to dwell within those who accept Him through faith. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, a person becomes a new creature and is being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. ​ Jesus Christ adds those who believe in Him to his Body. This is His church on earth, of which He is the Head. ​ The Bible is, in its entirety, the revelation of God for mankind, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
  • Is the Bible School accredited?
    As an eight-month Bible school, we are not regionally accredited. That being said we have had some Christian colleges that have allowed students to transfer fifteen credit hours (or more) for studies completed here. Credit transfer is a done on a case by case basis with admissions counselors from different colleges. We are happy to be a part of the process. Please reach out to us if you have questions.
  • What is the cost and what does this cover?
    The total cost for the 2023-24 School Year is $14,390 USD. Program fees include registration deposit, classes, room and board, books, internet access, outdoor activities, and adventure trips. Two mission trips are part of the program for all students and included in tuition amount. Prices exclude laundry, ski pass, optional activities, and immigration fees for international students. Ski passes are not mandatory, but because of our ministry at the Winter Park Resort, it is encouraged for those who can afford one. (Skiing/snowboarding experience is not needed to participate in the ministry at the resort.)

    First Semester Start Date (Arrival Day): September 7th (tentative) Christmas Break: December 11th, 2022 - January 8th, 2023 Graduation (Final Day): May 5th
  • Dates for 2023 - 2024
    First Semester Arrival Day: September 6, 2023 Graduation Day: May 3, 2024 More dates to come.
  • Early Enrollment Deal for 2023 - 2024 Program
    **THERE IS NO ENROLLMENT DEADLINE FOR OUR PROGRAM WE TAKE APPLICATIONS UNTIL THE PROGAM IS FULL Early Bird Enrollment Deadline: Once applied and accepted, enrollment (including a $1,000 non-refundable deposit*) must be complete by 5:00pm MST February 14, 2023 A complimentary season ski pass will be given to students fully enrolled for the full program according to these deadlines! Open Enrollment: Applications must be complete (including references, transcripts, and fee) to be reviewed for acceptance. Applicants are accepted at periodic intervals. Once accepted, applicants enrolling after February 14, 2023 are enrolled on a first come, first serve basis.   • "Exchange Rate" Scholarship for Canadians

  • What is taught in the classroom?
    Over fifteen books of the Bible and topical studies typically including: Genesis, Joshua, Judges, 1st Samuel, 1st Kings, Ezra, Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes, Jeremiah, Minor Prophets, Mark, Acts, Romans, Corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, Timothy, Hebrews, James, Revelation, Trinity, Evangelism, Youth Ministry, How to Study the Bible, and Feasts of Israel.
  • Where do most students come from?
    Each year is different. We have students from all over the world; but primarily, America, Canada, and Europe.
  • What if I'm an International Student?
    International students will work with our registrar and our immigration attorney to obtain a visa for their time of study in the United States. Please email our registrar at registrar@timberlinelodge.org with any questions.
  • How big is the student body?
    Our maximum capacity is 42 students.
  • Is it possible to register early?
    An early commitment is advised because slots generally begin to fill in January. Timberline offers an early registration incentive each year.
  • Can I come see TL before applying?
    Prospective students and their parents are welcome to come get a glimpse of life at Timberline. Please arrange a visit by emailing registrar@timberlinelodge.org. We usually arrange for prospective students to arrive Sunday evening and depart sometime Tuesday afternoon. This gives prospective students a view into some unique aspects of Timberline's program, opportunities to hang out with our current student body, and time to talk with Bible School staff in depth. Taste and See is free of charge – prospective students must arrange their own transportation to/from Timberline.
  • What is a typical week?
  • What are the meals like?
    Meals are included with tuition. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for the full length of the program. Students typically enjoy a continental breakfast, and home-cooked, family-style lunch and dinner alongside many of the staff and staff families. Flavors and styles of food vary often and our kitchen crew works hard to provide high-quality meals. Students pack a bag lunch if they are going to be offsite for a meal.
  • What if I have a special diet?
    An additional fee is required for students requiring a special diet (gluten/dairy free etc.) See the financial agreement form for details.
  • What should I pack?
    Bedding: (available to rent) Comforter set Sheet set x2 (Twin Normal) Mattress cover Pillow Bathroom: Towels/Washcloths Caddy for shower stuff Toiletries Laundry: Laundry Hamper/Bag Laundry soap/dryer sheets School Supplies: Pens/Pencils/Highlighters Non-paraphrase Bible for study (ESV, NIV, NASB, NKJV) Paraphrase Bible like the Amplified for devotions if desired Pocket-sized Bible 2 Journals Drivers License (current through graduation) or other photo ID.   • What are the dorm rooms like? (Pictures!)
    Students can expect to have 2-3 dresser drawers, space for hanging clothes, 1-2 shelves/cubbies for belongings, and half of the space under a bunk bed. Storage lockers are provided outdoors for skis and snowboards. Each room has it's own full bathroom and a few of the rooms have fireplaces.
  • Can I bring my own vehicle?
    Students are welcome to bring a vehicle to school. Students must provide Timberline with a copy of their car key for the plowing team. Transport to/from all Timberline programming is provided as well as a weekly town/ski shuttle.
  • Can guests visit?
    Absolutely! Students are permitted to host guests in their dorm room up to 5 nights at a time. We also have guest rooms available, please contact guestservices@timberlinelodge.org to book a room.
  • How long is Christmas Break?
    Students enjoy a 3-4 week Christmas break immediately following the Fall missions trip. Students are required to be away from campus over break. See the Dates and Fees section for specifics.
  • Does Timberline have internet?
    Free WiFi is available for student & guest use.
  • What is cell reception like?
    Most major carriers have fair to good coverage at Timberline.
  • How do I get to and from Denver International Airport?
    Timberline provides transportation for all trips and programs for the Bible school, however, students are required to arrange their own transportation to/from the airport for school breaks and arrival days at Timberline. (Our Fall missions trip concludes at the end of the first semester, so students are transported to the Denver airport, and will be able to fly home from there or from the city where the Fall missions trip was hosted - typically New York City) Home James Transportation provides daily service from Denver International Airport to Fraser. On arrival days, Timberline collects students from the drop-off location in Fraser. See their website for more information: www.ridehj.com regarding shuttle schedules. Amtrak also provides daily train service to Fraser.

plenty of options for fun or relaxing at TL, as well as lots to explore in town!

8:00pm – Evening snacks & fellowship

 

Tuesday:

8:00am – Breakfast

Wednesday: (FREE DAY!)

8:00 – 9:30am – Open Continental Breakfast

10:30am – Enjoy a quiet day at TL or explore the many activities just a few miles away including a high ropes course, rafting, Rocky Mountain National Park, downhill mountain biking, shopping in Winter Park, etc!

3:00 - 4:30 pm Optional activities at TL for men, women, and children

5:30 – 7:00pm – Formal Ranch Dinner for the adults (Children fed separately) 

7:30pm – Family Fun Night!

 

Thursday:

8:00am – Breakfast

8:45am – BIBLE session 6 

10:30am – Morning Adventures: options like hiking, rock climbing, biking, and fly fishing
