History
| Timberline Lodge was purchased in 1995
and run as a youth retreat center with an emphasis on vigorous outdoor
activities. Since then, we have added a Bible School and Discipleship
Program in affiliation with Torchbearers International, and have also
added a summer outdoor adventure program called Ascent. Along
with the growth in programs, we have added to our staff, and the
amenities which support these programs.
Affiliation with Torchbearers International
Timberline Lodge is affiliated with
Torchbearers International,
and is one of more than 20 such centers around the world. Founded by
Major Ian Thomas in England in 1947, all such centers provide training
in the Christian life through practical, short-term Bible Schools,
conferences, service, and recreation.
Timberline Lodge is unique among the Torchbearer schools in that it
is the only such school that combines a thorough study of the Bible with
one-to-one discipleship and a program of service to youth groups.
However, like all of the Torchbearer schools, Timberline Lodge is deeply
committed to the Torchbearer mission of teaching the truth of the Bible.
