Want to do more with your summer? Spend it serving others in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!
In the summer months when it is not serving as a Bible School Timberline Lodge hosts youth groups, churches, reunions, and families. Each summer we hire volunteers to work alongside our full time staff to welcome and serve our summer guests. For students and guests alike, this is an informal time of fellowship and fun, but also a time to gain valuable experience in a youth ministry support role.
Volunteers may begin arriving at Timberline on May 21, 2017 and begin volunteering on May 22, 2017. Our summer guest season concludes on August 11, 2017 and volunteers are free to leave campus August 12, 2017. It is our expectation that volunteers are at Timberline for the full time summer unless previously discussed during the application process. If you have conflict please let us know we make exceptions on a case by case basis.
Our volunteers are not paid. That said we recognize the hard work and contribution that volunteers make around the world for Torchbearers International and seek to compensate time spent serving with room and board as well as reimburse necessary expenses (includes things like laundry fees, fuel, cell phones etc.) for up to $100 a month. Reimbursements are done by submitting receipts to our business department. Housing, food, and a place to do laundry are provided.
We are looking for students who have graduated high school and are over 18 years old. If you are interested in camping ministry, have a heart for serving students and youth pastors, and enjoy adventuring in the mountains then this might be the opportunity for you!
Many staff families live on campus at Timberline so ministry is often very relational and our community is very close. We would love for the volunteers to feel like part of the family and to invest into your lives this summer.
Preferably 21+ with a clean driving record. If you are under 21 and interested please still apply! The program team works with our two staff members to facilitate, plan, and run all summer guest group programming. This includes leading outdoor activities like hiking, biking, camping, rock climbing and intentionally pouring into the lives of the students who come to camp.
Front Desk Volunteer
The front desk volunteer will work closely with the program team assisting with group paperwork, booking information, staffing the front desk, creating schedules, and managing guest rosters. This position is less outdoor program work but is essential for the overall running of Timberline and equips all departments to function and focus on their specific areas.
Preferably 21+ with a clean driving record. If you are under 21 and interested please still apply! The facilities volunteers work repairing the lodge, working outside on projects with our facility manager, overseeing work service projects for our guest groups, and general upkeep.
The housekeeping volunteers work with our housekeeping manager to present camp as a second home to our guests through cleaning rooms, gardening, watering plants, laundry, and overseeing work service projects for our guest groups.
The kitchen volunteers are trained by our chef and assist in the daily meal preparations and cleanup. They help set for meals, serve tables, and cleanup following meals.
